Created using traditional Pattachitra methods, the artist begins with fine freehand black line drawing to establish figures, facial expressions, ornaments, and architectural borders. The composition is then developed through layered application of hand-mixed pigments, preserving crisp contours and precise detailing throughout garments, jewelry, and floral motifs. Dense micro-line work across the figures and frame reflects careful control of line weight and spacing. The artwork is executed entirely by hand without stencils, demonstrating strong command of classical iconography and proportion.
Painted on handmade patta (traditional treated cloth), prepared to achieve a smooth and durable surface. Natural and mineral-based pigments are hand-mixed to produce deep blues, soft whites, subtle blacks, and restrained red accents. These pigments are applied in controlled layers to maintain clarity, saturation, and long-term stability.
Every masterpiece is unique. Before your artwork is secured in its climate-safe tube, the original artist performs a final inspection. They hand-fill and refresh the intricate borders using traditional mineral pigments, ensuring the piece arrives in pristine, gallery-ready condition.
